About Me

This is the part of the site where i get to whittle on about myself for the benefit of no-one really, with the possible exception of my own ego.
I was born in Wales in 1973. Since then, I have lived, worked and studied in 6 different countries on 3 continents (and have traveled to many more). Our current country of residence is Norway, where I live with my wife Ollie, the most fantastic and wonderful girl in the world
I tend to spend my time pottering about in the Norwegian countryside, working as a software developer, playing and listening to music, reading, learning new stuff and (most importantly) eating curry.
I consider myself to be fairly quiet and introverted, and sometimes shy and clumsy. Luckily, I make up for this by being loud and stupid on occasion.
I believe life should be about doing exciting things and relaxation in equal measures.
I love being outside in the mountains or underwater. I am a scuba diver (teaching diving was a full time job for me for the few years that I lived in Asia), I have done a fair bit of rock climbing, and I am learning to ski and kayak. Mostly though I just like to wander up mountains and over hills. The best bit of all is that I have a wife that enjoys doing these things as much as I do.
I enjoy being creative, and I spend much of my time writing music and drawing dinosaurs (or at least thinking about how I’m going to write my next tune, or draw my next dinosaur). I am a reasonably bad guitar player (considering I have been playing for 18 years), and compensate for this by playing a lovely custom Telecaster through as many strange effects as I can find. I have played with bands in the UK, Norway and New Zealand (and even for a very short time in Thailand), and am very keen on finding some new people to make tunes with now we have settled back in Norway.
I find the idea of rats as pets quite charming, and would like a nice wee black one called Igneous. Ollie on the other hand wants a whippet. I could be convinced.
