Back in Sunny Wales
Sunday, August 13th, 2006Have been home for a couple of weeks now - currently have the obligatory hangover and belly full of curry (off out again in an hour to make sure things stay that way).
Its been nice to be back home over the last few weeks. Have been out walking up Pen-Y-Fan and Twmbarlum, and around Usk and Cardiff. Have also been applying for lots of jobs, and searching for the perfect wedding venue. And of course we have been getting back into proper British ales and curry.
Miles & Rie and Alex & Tammy came over for a visit this weekend, hence the hangover and curried belly. Unfortunately, Miles & Rie took Ollie back with them to London when they left this afternoon - she has an interview tomorrow, then flies back to Norway for a few weeks on Tuesday
Was going to join her, but i am keen on finding myself a job and earning myself some money before going on any more holidays. Of course once i have a job i wont have the time to go on holiday.. but it is far too early in my job hunting career to start thinking like that. Saying that, im finding it suprisingly easy to keep my enthusiasm up - there seem to be lots of interesting jobs in the UK at the moment, lots that i would very happily do. Have not found a great deal that inspires me in the GIS field (most of which are either GIS operator jobs [i.e. not programming], or they are in the Dark Side of GIS i.e. customer profiling, spying, or otherwise playing with lots of peoples personal data [often bought off other inscrupulous organisations]). On the other hand, I have found many software developer jobs that look really cool, including lots of graphics programming work.
